Welcome to Lonestar Creek Farm

Meet Brendi - The Heart Behind Lonestar Creek Farm
Hi, I'm Brendi Stradley, the founder of Lonestar Creek Farm. My journey into the world of animal care started long before I began breeding Miniature Dachshunds nearly a decade ago. In fact, some of my earliest memories are of helping my mom deliver Pugs and Saint Bernards. By High School I was even getting excused from class to assist with veterinary C-sections. My passion for animals led me to my first job at just 13, working for a small-town country vet. Learning how to file charts, watching surgeries, learning names of tools/equipment and general cleaning. From that point forward, I was hooked! In High School I was the State Secretary as well as the President of our local HOSA chapter (Future Healthcare Professionals). I competed in Veterinary Science my junior and senior year of HS, winning 1st and 3rd place, taking me to Nationals both years. I attended Midway University for a degree in Equine Health and Rehabilitation as well as Biology; discovering that I had a passion for horses as well! While in college, I rode for the school's western pleasure equestrian team as well as worked on a thoroughbred breeding farm. After moving from Versailles to Westport almost 11 years ago, I have worked with several veterinarians in most specialities and species! Receptionist, Vet Nurse, Anesthesiologist, Dental Tech, Lab Tech, Equine Ambulatory Tech, Kennel Manager, Clinic Supervisor and Surgery Tech are just some of the roles I have had during my Veterinary Medicine Career. Most notable : Reproductive Supervisor at the Kentucky ICSB (International Canine Semen Bank). That experience deepend my commitment to ethical breeding practices, advanced health testing, and the importance of responsible program development. I took the best from every breeding program I admired and rolled it all into my very own. Lonestar Creek Farm Dachshunds was born out of that dedication. Our focus on raising healthy, happy companions that reflect the breed standard. Every dog in our program is health-tested -- Genetically and through breed-specific OFA exams. From 13 to 25 years old, I have been directly involved in the veterinary world, taking every opportunity to further my knowledge. In addition to breeding, I've turned my love for grooming into a mobile salon business, giving another way to serve animals and their people. And tes, it all started with a sanitary cut on a cat! For the last 4 years I have taken a step out of the vet world to focus on improving my breeding program, raising my 3 year old daughter and elevating my weekend breeding business into a mobile salon. We appreciate your interest in Lonestar Creek Dachshunds! I will answer a few basic questions here. Our primary focus at Lonestar Creek Farm is to produce quality, healthy companions that represent the breed standard. When looking for a puppy to join your family, two things are extremely important: health and temperment. Lonestar Creek Dachshunds are known for their excellent temperaments and we OFA and genetic test all of our doxies. We are proud to say we have doxies in 36 states and 3 other countries! Ranging from California to Florida all the way to Austria Vienna! Almost every previous puppy family has come back for puppy number 2! We think repeat families speak the highest about our program. All furbabies live with us in our home and all of our puppies are raised inside! We have a large, very hands-on family. Our funny farm is essentially a zoo! You can find parrots, horses, ponies, chickens, ducks, cats, big and small dogs as well as some feral children; So you can be certain your new puppy has been exposed to just about all of Noahs Ark. Babies don't leave mom until after their second vet visit at 10 weeks old. At 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks they are dewormed with Pyrantel. We don't allow home visits until after their first set of vaccines at 7 weeks old. We do offer facetime until then though! :) Our puppies all go home with a personalized puppy pack including : Folder with all documentation, registration paperwork, microchip, 30 days health insurance, treats, food, blanket that smells like mom, snuggle puppy heartbeat bear, 1st month preventative, collar and ID tag. Puppies flying also will be supplied with an airline carrier and health certificate for travel. Breeding rights are available to approved breeding programs after health clearances have been completed. I have a ground shipper that I have used for delivering puppies coast to coast. I can help arrange shipping via ground or air. In some situations, I personally hand deliver! Deposit amounts vary puppy to puppy, but no puppy can be held without one. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE. So please, be ABSOLUTELY sure that you are ready to bring a puppy home before placing your deposit. Deposits can not be accepted until an application has been approved and a contract has been filled out. Purchasing a Miniature Dachshund puppy is an investment. Sure you can find them cheaper, but we stand behind our breeding forever. We provide a health guarantee for any genetic health disorders. The old saying "You get what you pay for" applies here. For the lifetime of your puppy (even after) you have Breeder support. Meaning any issues/concerns you have, bring them to me! No matter the situation, I want to help! Need any additional information? I would be more than happy to provide anything you want to know. Please message, DM, call or email any questions! At Lonestar Creek, we're more than breeders -- we're a lifelong support system. From vet visits and vaccines to travel arrangements and puppy packs, every step is handled with care and integrity. When you choose us, you're choosing a family that's fully committed to the lifelong wellbeing of your puppy.
